Not all T/H systems work the same. Depends on the tranny.
The wifes '06 1500 5.3 chevy 3.73 axle with the 4L60E tranny all it does is raise the rpms before TC clutch locks up/higher shift point rpms to 2nd and 3rd. Nothing else good is done.
In fact with the TC clutch unlocked in T/H mode it has little to non engine braking going down grades in 2nd at 35-40 mph. Thats why I don't use it.
Nothing at all like the Allison or the other big trannies behind a diesel.
