Payload is not the limiting factor. It is another rating made up by the bean counters to keep the lawyers happy. You’ll notice that he payload is usually well under the combined axle and tire ratings. A couple hundred pounds over is not going to destroy your truck or kill anyone. If that were the case just about every fiver on a 3/4 ton truck would be a danger on the road. More important is stay stay under the tire and axle ratings.
In that case why are you pulling the same size trailer with a 3/4 ton and a Hensley?
There are plenty of other factors besides tires and axles that come in to play.
