In that case why are you pulling the same size trailer with a 3/4 ton and a Hensley?
There are plenty of other factors besides tires and axles that come in to play.
We pulled our trailer just fine with our Tundra previously but we have plans for a fiver in the future so when it was time for a new truck we went bigger, out of want not necessity. Bought the Hensley when we towed a 26'tt with our 4Runner. Don't need it now as the truck tows the tt fine without it but I have it so I might as well use it.
Sure, there are lots of factors but tires seem to be the weakest link followed by axles. And even axles are usually d-rated much lower than their tested limits. Others like fames, suspension, and brakes play a part too but aren't usually rated with an individual limiting number and are capable of supporting much higher weights than the artificially low Payload ratings, they just don't put a number on it. They do on axles and tires.
