Tow package

Just like them adult diapers............depends!

Most manufacturers have towing guides and other documentation available online that shows what various packages include. My Sierra for example had an available towing package, which mine has, and an HD towing package, which I do not have. To top it off I have the Z71 off road package which adds a couple of components that are included in the HD package. Clear as mud!

Depending on OEM packages the towing capacity can vary by several thousand pounds. In other words, not all towing packages are created equal!

I've seen some vehicles where tow package just means it has a hitch. And some it means all that was mentioned above.

Best to review the specs/build sheet of that specific vehicle you are looking at.

My old Dodge towing package also had a heavy duty battery and alternator, transmission cooler.
Also had extra leaf springs (but that was the camper package).
I would guess towing mirrors would now be included, but my old Dodge didn't have them included with the towing package.

Varies a little, but usually the receiver hitch, 7 pin (and possibly 4 pin) plug, HD cooling, possibly a factory brake controller, certain gearing for towing, etc.

Best thing to do is figure of which brand(s) you like and go shopping to find out for sure.
