The OP probably does not need 4wd. I would never have a vehicle without it, of course I live with snow and ice.
Just last week we went boondocking in a field. It had rained at least some part of each day the previous week. Grass was probably 8" long. Access was up a 400 yd lane that the farmer had been up and down hauling round bales out with a tractor, so it was muddy ruts. No way would RWD ever had made it.
The site we set the trailer on required backing across a dead furrow. Low side of the rig needed 8" of blocking to level.
4wd low and the truck just walked the camper in to place and up onto the blocks. No muss no fuss.
Supercharged, I challenge you to come out here with your 2wd and put your "nobody needs no stinkin 4wd" AZ into the same spot. And then find a provider to tow your butt out when you are 3/4 of a mile off the maintained road.
