It appears you have 2 conflicting issues: 1) performance truck vs 2)tow vehicle. You seem to have a lot of knowledge about the vehicles you reference, good for you! I'm thinking little of the "performance truck" stuff will be all that useful to you as a tow vehicle. My experience with tow vehicles puts little value on low end torque because I could always easily get the trailer moving. My greater issue was accelerating at driving speeds and that is where horsepower trumps torque. More gears is also better than fewer gears. Hope you find a combination that works well for you.
