Tow vehicle question?
I am considering a 2015 F250 for a tow vehicle to pull a 14000LB 5er;it is a 4wheel drive with single rear wheels,automatic trans.and standard triton engine,short bed;any thoughts on this would be appreciated;;;Tom

- NOT enough truck!!! Even a 350 will need air bags. A 3500 SRW RAM with factory air ride and Aisin trans will be the best bet for that RV.

- I agree with above. Need at least a 350/3500 SRW, and maybe a DRW. If that is 14,000 dry weight then you will almost for sure need a DRW for payload for loaded weight. And a diesel would be much better for that weight, especially if you do any mountains.
- You need a F350 with a Power Stroke.

You don't need a dually to carry/tow a 14,000# GVWR 5er a 350/3500 SWRmwill do just fine.
Depending on the dry weight of the 5er I would carry/pull with my Ram 2500, it may have a high cargo capacity!
The 5.4 is just not enough engine to pull that much weight!
What is your reason to dump the 2006 Ram CTD, 2nd best year to own! Only the early 2007 non EPA is a better TV, well there are the post 2013 Rams!:B - Well this is a first at least in a while, the Ford guys, Ram boys, and now a Gm man are all in agreement. Better shut the thread down before something happens.
