Sounds like you are on the right track choosing a truck!!!!
Don't forget to add the weight of a good wdh with integrated sway control. And know that the manufactures "brochure" dry tongue/ hitch weight does not include the propane tanks or battery weight!!! Add ~120lbs (2-20lb tanks and a battery) or ~160lbs (2-30lb tanks and a battery).
What accessories do you think you will add to the truck: tonneau cover, fiberglass topper, step bars, etc??? All those added items subtract from the available payload also.
What all do you anticipate carrying in the truck bed: bikes, coolers, firewood, etc???
If the trailer has a front pass through storage area/ storage under the front bed, try to figure out/ anticipate what you may store in there: grill, Camp Chef style stove, bag chairs, Ez-Up, ice maker, etc. Majority of that weight is added to the tw.
If possible, sit and make a list to the above, and try to estimate the weight of the items.
As mentioned, a properly equipped 1500 could do it pending what your answers are to the above questions/ suggestions.
Good luck deciding!!!
