The re-vamped 454 to the 8.1 496 would leave the 6.0 gasser in towing...it'll also love gas stations:), I had the 8.1 in an 01 Chevy 2500 and it comes with the Allison transmission...one heck of a towing machine if you can find one in pretty good shape.
