I have always preferred a one ton over a 3/4 ton just for the extra capacity just as you prefer a dually to tow a trailer that could easily be towed by any 3/4 or 1 ton on the market today. It is called a preference and it doesn't automatically make you an idiot just because you don't agree with somebody else that is not technically wrong.
