It all depends on how many miles you will drive. Your fillups will cost more with a diesel, but of course you will drive more miles between them. Just remember, "mpg" and "fuel economy" are not the same thing. I always tell people that if they like the sound and feel of a diesel better, then by all means buy one. If they run lots of miles towing heavy, go diesel. Beyond that you have to crunch the numbers to see if it's worth it to you. I just sold a truck that I used in landscaping to haul heavy and tow light, low in-town mileage. It was gas, and I never regretted buying a gas truck. As they say, your mileage may vary.....
