Nope, only way you are liable is if you were at fault for the collision. The manufacturer warranty rating, also known as the GVWR, has ZERO to do with the law. You are legal to the lesser of your registered weight or your tire rating. so long as you are under the lower of those 2 ratings, you are legal and there is nothing that anyone can do to you... except maybe your dealer denying warranty work, but they would have to be able to state that being over your warranty weight caused whatever item to break.
