First, congrats on getting out-numbered! It does change a lot of things.
Next, you should really verify the hitch. As far as I know, there are no aftermarket receivers available because GM made it standard on every one integrated into the frame and crumple zone, thus the 1000 pound TW rating. Anything can be customized and there have been some people to do that, but you want to make sure Durababurb can do it (and how) on a 2007+ GM SUV.
Honestly, I would spend the time looking for a 2004-2006 3/4 Ton Burb with 8.1L. Factory 12k towing limit with 4.10 axle, 10.5k for 3.73. Finding one in nice condition will take some time and some traveling. I don't think I have every heard one complaint about how the 8.1L tows. But should it not be sufficient, Duraburb can be had on that model too.
Another thought - sell the TT. It will be far cheaper to downgrade (in weight) that to something a stock 6.0L 3/4 ton Burb can handle. There are plenty of 7500-ish pound TTs with the same or similar floorplans as that Sierra.
