Yes, the 2500 Suburban ended in 2013.
OK, I did some serious digging here.....Thanks to Eric at Duraburb for his help and info, too.
2000+ and up Suburban 2500 uses the same frame, GMT800 or GMT900. ONly difference is one has holes in a different location for an ABS controller, I think he said. Curt XD hitch for a 2006 will bolt right onto a 2007 or newer truck.
So the Duraburb conversion takes care of the lack of power....... the issue I am running into is the GVWR.
GVWR on a 2500 Suburban is 8600#. With an 8.1L Big Block truck, estimated "available" weight for passengers + tongue weight is about 2000#. With the Duramax conversion, only 1400# left. My dry tongue weight is 900#, so I would be RIGHT at the limit with the DuraBurb

My reservation with buying an 8.1L is that I previously had a 2005 Duramax (same bodystyle) that was a complete piece of junk.......I don't know if I can talk my wife into another one;) A GMT900 is a whole different conversation with her, ha ha ha:)
