Towing 10K+ with Gas Engine
I see a lot of people comment that if you tow over 10K lbs, you need to get a diesel. However, the big 3 all list gas trucks that can tow up to 14K (with the correct gears). I understand that a dies...

The 6.2L diesel makes 257 pound feet.
The 5.9 Cummins didn't break 460 pound feet until 2001.

Just a few examples.
OP, blanket statements and rules of thumb are generally not the best way to select a truck. I used my 2001 Chevy dually with 8.1L and Allison automatic to tow over 10,000 pounds quite often and it did an outstanding job.
