The Tundra has plenty of power but like others have said payload can be an issue. Our trailer weighs in at 7600# empty but the tongue weight is 900+. So with the dirt bikes and passengers we are over. Even with a good WDH I had to add timbrens. On a real windy day there is some sway (trailer is 34'). Large trucks do not bother me.
If you are going to tow your trailer with a couple passengers, no problem. Personally, I am now on the side that you cannot have too big a truck and am shopping for a 350 diesel. The issue I have is that like many others I have decided to upgrade to a larger unit before retirement so I will need a different tow vehicle. If you are between 5000 and 6500 lbs, and don't plan to upgrade, probably ok. For me, if I was to do it again, I would have purchased a bigger truck. if he plans to tow in mountainous terrain that is also a consideration.
We are currently on a 3 week vacation in the US and will have towed 2000 miles. We have done this at least 3 times in the past 3 years.
