  • thank you I appreciate that, I really don't want to go buy a newer truck. 2014 ram . my wife like the fifthwheel with front living rm. how about if I would beef up brake system. but I quess really its about the weight. thanks
  • Off the top of my head, you have about a 21,000 GCWR which would leave you with a 13,200 pound max trailer. But it will likely pull just fine and you have bags.

You should be ok so long as you don't put anything in your trailer. Seriously, The tow rating for your truck is less than 14,000 if I read the tow ratings properly. Would your truck still handle the trailer, in your opinion, if it weighed, say, 17,000 pounds, which is a very real figure once you put your stuff inside. I'd be consulting my owners manual. Nobody's going to give you a ticket for being overweight but 17-18,000 pounds on a SRW is pushing it - that's just my opinion.

But he has a dual rear wheel truck! I'm no authority on Ram trucks. Someone that is will have to help but that may be pushing the limits
  • With your gearing the tow rating is a paltry 13,300 pounds. It's 16,900 with 4.10 gears. Don't know why the numbers are so low. What does your manual say?
