Hmmmm, I have an older sister towing a 1950s single axel aluminum sided thing with a hybrid Toyota SUV. Highlander is ringing a bell. SHe seems to have no issues with it. Trailer has brakes, controller in the cab.....

I would do it! Than again, I am not one for following tow ratings, I go more on will it perform to MY specs, not some engineer in Detroit, that does not do what I do pulling a trailer!
