Towing a TT with 5.7 Tundra??

How many people in the tundra, pets and cargo too
what concerns me is the payload capacity of the vehicle
you state 1325 but the trailer has a hitch weight of 780 but realistically call it a minimum of 800 unless you plan to put nothing in the trailer and tow with no propane. The hitch system is a minimum of 50 lbs so you are at 850 subtract from 1325 leaves 475 for everything else in the tow vehicle.

I bet loaded with batteries, propane, and misc stuff, the tongue weight will be 1000lbs. I'm thinking that model is a bunkhouse, so that means a couple of kids in the truck. I think you'll be over the payload.

My Tt is about the same weight, but my payload is 1850. By the time I get a wife, 2 teens, golden retriever, 4 kayaks, 4 bikes, and a little firewood, and my fat butt, I'm pushing my payload.

Youll probably be at or just over the truck's payload but under the rear axle rating and probably under the rating of your tires. Might be worth adding airbags to the rear axle and switching to load range E LT tires.

Power wont be an issue and stopping shouldnt be with a properly adjusted brake controller.Wont be an ideal setup but should be doable.

We just sold the same floorplan TT and you need a 2500/250 to handle it.

It was over 8,000 # with a TW of 1200# on a good day .

Please confirm actual payload per tire and loading sticker on the driver's door or door jam. That TT will be 7500 pounds with 1000 pound of TW. If you have 1300 pounds of payload available, does your family only weigh 300 pounds? It seems unlikely, plus a bed full or stuff.

Thanks for the replies. I agree it looks like I will be over with payload. I'm going to start looking for a 2500 truck. The Jayco sales reps in two different rv centers said my tundra would be capable. How can they recommend trailers to buy when they have no clue about tow set ups?

Salesmen will say almost anything to get you to buy; he probably didn't want you to walk away if you thought you couldn't pull it with your Tundra.

I had the same setup as you; a 5.7 Tundra pulling a 29' TT and I will tell you that you will not like it! You will whiteknuckle every time a big rig passes you because you will get sucked into his lane. You will probably go through many brake pads and rotors. I went to a 5th wheel and got a 3500 SRW and can not describe the difference! WOW, I can drive with one hand on the wheel now. Exhaust brakes are awesome! And the new diesels are great for everyday use too. Look at the 3500 vs the 2500, there isn't much price difference and you can get the added payload, even though you won't need it now, you never know about the future. Good luck.

and because the salesman does not give a sheet about your safety.
If you buy from a dealer remember this bit of education you just received. The salesman is not your friend and he is out to get your money anyway he can.
