Overweight getting on or off the ramp 3 miles from your home is the same as being overweight 500 miles away. Neither is safe for your family. Suggest you recheck the weights - 6000# sounds like dry weight. Regardless, you're too close to your max....no wiggle room. I think you either need to keep shopping for a more appropriate RV or start shopping for a beefier tow vehicle. Sorry.
