Towing above 65
Currently out camping and on the way up I was getting past left and right by rv's. If you have a proper truck and change your trailer tires to LTs. Can trailers be safely towed in the 70 mph range. Thanks

One thing to remember. The ST tire was born during the nationwide 55MPH speed limit days.
ST tires were around long before that and tire design never depended on the 55mph limit which was always going to be temporary. Plus as we all know almost no one obeyed that 55 mph limit anyway.

When not towing on the highway, cruise control is set at 79. When towing the TT, cruise control is set at 63. Why? Much better gas mileage, under the speed rating for the tires, and I find the drive is more calm and relaxing. I set my frame of mind for a nice, leisurely pace. At first it drove me nuts to see everyone passing - but I got used to it. That's just me though.- I had 2 Marathons blowout in the Keys , one sitting still, 1 at 45 MPH. Bought 10 ply 16 in LT Michelins. I don't care what other people drive, it's their life not mine and I have a hard time running mine.

In RV application other type tires i.e. LT & TBR type tires show 75 mph MAX in the various publications from tire companies.
Now if you think the tire companies post information simply to cause confusion or to sell more tires then that's your decision. Just be willing to accept responsibility for your actions and don't complain when your tires fail due to cumulative damage tot he structure from overload, over-speed and under-inflation along with the high lateral forces the RV manufacturers know their suspension design puts into trailer applications.
Just because you may not have been doing something tire engineers say not to do at the time of the failure doesn't mean the damage was done to the tire in the past. - Obviously there was a bad pass and a crash. The question is, could the crash have been avoided by driver #2 backing off, and letting driver #1 back into his lane?

If you are talking about using the "quote" function, like I just did here... It is so others know what comment we are responding to.
Think of this as a conversation with many people. Only we are not all here at the same time, to respond immeadiatly to anothers statement.
It is a common feature found on most if not all boards.
If you are not talking about the quotes, then it is because just as in a real multiple person conversation, there may be several people with the same view.
