Traveling at 60 mph on the Interstates, everything will pass you. At 65 mph you keep up with most truck packs if that is their posted limit.
At 70 mph you will get passed by most cars because no one wants to drive behind a TT. You also will be pulling over to pass the slower trucks.
Since my preferred speed is 60 mph, I try to;
• Avoid the Interstates. Not always easy.
• Drive the interstates at 60 mph if the truck traffic is light.
• Ride with the Truck herd at 65 mph. in heavier traffic to avoid being passed by all the trucks.
I do actively seek our alternates to the Interstate routes but in large metro areas the Interstate is often the best option.
Driving at 70 mph is not the problem, stopping at 70 mph can be. Mileages also suffers.
