So 12 pages later it wasn't speed that caused the crash, it was the fact that the RV driver pulled back in front of the semi too soon, and the semi clipped the back bumper of the trailer, sending it off the road. The trailer didn't magically self destruct just because of speed alone, that's the point that I think spoon and I were making. He didn't crash because he was going too fast, he crashed because he couldn't go fast enough to get by the semi.
You could say that his desire to speed caused him to want to pass the semi, which turned out not to be a prudent decision. Had he been content to follow behind the semi at a slower speed he would likely be alive today. If that's your point jaycocreek, I completely get it.
Sad to say, it sounds like the semi didn't want to be behind the RV either, otherwise he would have slowed down to let him back in.
