I have 2016 Chevy Tahoe.
can I safety tow a RV that weights?
6845 dry weight and 845 tongue weight
bumper to hitch 35 FT thank you for the advice everyone.
I went with a 34 FT apex
I feel good about this decision since I only do in state towing.
All of our campgrounds are less than 200 miles from the house, 9 out 10 trips do not require interstate travel.thank you again!
:?
So apparently you really had no intention of taking the advice of what the majority of 'very' experienced RV'ers advised you of?
Since no one else is going to say it I will. If not only for others who might read this forum for advice, because 'where' you tow has nothing to do with the 'safety' of towing.
The fact that anyone is towing a TT that is too long for a short wheel based tow vehicle has NOTHING, ZIP, ZERO to do with whether one uses the interstate to get to their destination, or the number of miles traveled, or whether the trips are in one state.
An 'unsafe' towing set up is dangerous to the owner AND all the other vehicles around them if it is being towed 5 miles down the road on any road.
I pray for others driving around you when you have to make a corrective move and can not do so with that set up without causing an accident. :(
