Towing an KZ 2505 with an Expedition

Shoot - I just noticed this is an old thread so what I typed is now gone.

this is an old post but i tow my KZ 2505 with my 2011 F150 super cab... 305hp 3.7 V6, 3.73 gears and tow package... it tows great.

You can tell I had my mind elsewhere on my last post I've got a 2008 Expedition not a 2007, not that it really matters.

I have a 2004 KZ 2809 (7000 Gross Weight), I tow with a 2001 Tahoe (7900 tow rating), no issues tows great.

Expedition should be even better

I'm similar to Jayco 254; I have a 2008 eddie bauer non-el towing a 2014 Jay Flight 267bhs weighing in at about 6400 to 6500 lbs. Mine tows fine. Just get a good WHD with sway control.

When it is time to replace the tires. Consider LT tires if you don't already have them. They will handle the tongue weight better.

We have a 25 ft bh, dry weight of 4200 lb, max 7000 lb. We pull it through the Rockies with either a 2003 Expy with the tow package or with a 2007 without the package. Neither has any problems. Both have the 5.4.

Cargo/tongue weight is where you will be close, I imagine. Probably going to be fine...

It should tow the trailer without a problem. You should get a good WDH though.

I'm towing a Jayco Jay Feather EXP 254 with a 2007 Expedition 4X4 with 119" wheelbase (short wheelbase version) the trailer weighs in between 6000 and 6100 lbs. (I know I'm a couple of hundred pounds over loaded) and is 27 ft. long, I've never had any problems. My Eddie Bauer has a 9000lb.tow capacity Do you have the EL model with the I think it's a 130" wheel base? If so that's even better. Just make sure you get a decent hitch and that it's set up right. I'm guessing that your Expedition is the newer model 2007 to present.
