Towing behind a larger camper hitch question

I have a Lance 1172 on order, I believe it has a 42 inch over hang on the rear. If I want to tow a motorcycle trailer with a 600lb bike on it, what are my options?

Do I have to replace the factory hitch and upgrade something that can handle a 48 inch tusk type extension?

I already ordered a front truck hitch and a have a smaller bike for that but I am thinking now there are times I would like tow the bigger bike. I do not want to go the husk route as I dont want to drop 1k plus on the setup yet. But I am buying tusk camper tie downs and I guess there is a different rear tie down if you upgrade the hitch.

I would like to get it right the first time or at least attempt to.

Thanks

  • Since yo want to get it right the first time I would also suggest Torklift. Awesome hitch system. Then if you ever wanted to go with a bigger trailer, maybe enclosed for your MC, you're all ready set!!

With that long pf an extension, I certainly would use the upgrade hitch from Torklift, and the extension as well. Do it right, and don,t have to worry.
