Don't depend on any comments from here. Read the owners manual. We had a Chevy Colorado of that year and GM had a position on the electric 4WD switch for towing. I "think" the full size p/u did too, but the owner manual will tell you. When we bought the Colorado, the multiple salesmen couldn't give us the right story. The book doesn't lie.
