Towing Boat with T.C.

I'm pulling a 17 ft. Lund, Fisherman.

Jetcraft with 4 Canon downriggers. This boat handles all types of water from lakes to the big blue.

I would never buy a riveted boat unless we are talking about a cheap jon boat style. nothing that gets pounded as leaking rivets suck.

Tnx Bumpy , good to know . From what i have been reading, welded is more expensive but the users of them stated the same as you mentioned. A pounding sea needs something more solid than a rivet.
I think the metal needs to be heavier on a welded unit . I guess to some owners that would matter when towing with a truck camper.

Nothing beats a Lund for Walleye fishing. Too bad my Lund is in California where the walley are scarce. Lots of trout though.

Thanks for all the replies, just starting my search for a boat,have a tiller now but want some sort of deep V w/ a steering wheel to make things a little easier on my aching parts. Got a new NL 10-2 cd se, and should have a new F 350 this week. I'll be sure to do my research,like the welded suggestion,just hope DW will get on board. Just returned from northern NH Conn. lakes where they must have had a truck camper/Smoker Craft convention . I saw pickups and truck campers galore towing Smoker crafts with full canopy enclosures. I don't know why the SC boat was so popular but i can tell you the 38 F temps and heavy rain explained the full enclosures .
Last year the fishermen were in T's and shorts, this year they were wearing snowmobile suits .

Other boats i saw being towed to a lesser extent were Fisher, Lund , Lowe, Bass Tracker and Crestliner, but Smoker Craft was this years winner .

Here's mine. Alumacraft 16' with 60 horse Yamaha. 2 horse Honda kicker. I have owned it 5 years and very happy.

Look at our signature. DH loves his Lund and I really feel safe in it when we go out in "big water".

I think there may be a pic of it on the show your rig thread. It's great to have a TC to make camping and fishing easier.

Some pretty great walleye fishing here in WI. Might want to check it out.
