I had a 2000 Silverado 1/2 5.3, pulling around 6500 lbs and got 10-11 mpg. 20 years later and you are getting 7mpg with about the same truck. Find out why your truck is getting such lousy mpg. And if you like your truck, keep it. You will lose a lot of money trading it in on something else. Wish I had my 2000 back.
