We travel up to Michigan and about the middle part of Michigan and going north fuel stations get few and far between. You really have to plan the fuel stops.
Drop back to the low 60's and you will probably see the MPG jump.
Just curious, what are you considering the "middle part of Michigan". Never noticed a rarity of gas stations and have lived there for 50yrs and covered the entire state for traffic signal operations. Even in the UP, it would be rare to have more than 15-20miles between gas stations.
