A lot of what you do depends on where you live. I live in northern Indiana, what we call a decent snow is far different from other parts of the country.
When I have had to tow in the winter most of the State highways were clear and well salted as were the Interstates. Slow, much more interval, and annoying truck spray about describes it.
I have not seen chains in use on cars in at least 30 years, though I cannot speak for the Truckers.
I can say they ship a lot of TTs out of Elkhart in the winter, snow does not seem to be much of a deterrent.
