Towing over 10K lbs with 6 passengers...
So I'm searching for a vehicle that can tow our 10K lb trailer and still give us room to carry 6 total passengers, 4 of them under 12 which means they can't ride in the front with an airbag turned on....

I am very close to selling my pickup to buy an Express. I moved from a Yukon XL wth the 8.1 to a 2500HD with the 6.0. My wife missed the the family vehicle that could haul 8, and puts nothing in the bed because of the height of the tailgate. Additionally, my daughters do not want their dogs to ride in the bed of the truck. I was lucky to have Suburbans and Acadia's as a company vehicle to have for family travel. Lately it has been cars.
I was going to replace the truck with a new one, but could not afford the $45k for a new one. So I got my wife a new 2014 CTS4 for a great deal. Now that she has AWD, I am very close to getting a gently used Express. It will pull my trailer, and allow complete family and pets to travel. And I will have spent about the same as a new truck.
The one thing I may do is replace the first bench with two buckets. This would make it comfortable for four. The only thing I will miss is the 4x4 of the truck.
