Towing over 10K lbs with 6 passengers...
So I'm searching for a vehicle that can tow our 10K lb trailer and still give us room to carry 6 total passengers, 4 of them under 12 which means they can't ride in the front with an airbag turned on....

To add to the thread again. Once a year my wife plans a trip with her friend and 2 kids. The total in the X is 7 people and when we had our Shepherd another 100 lbs. that is a total of 1050lbs of humans and canine. Add in the 1200 lbs of tongue weight and I'm probably right around 2250 lbs of cargo plus a full tank of fuel!!!! That puts me around 9500 lbs! It's only a 3 hour trip once a year, but the X never has an issue with it. Yes I'm about 600 lbs over the GVWR, but I'm not worried about that, I'm still under the axle ratings.
The Excursion is an amazing HD SUV. It can handle anything you ask it to do! Provided you take care of the soft rear spring issues. And install a sway bar if it doesn't have a factory one.
