We are often 6 adults when we all travel together for family trips (2 grown kids and their significant others) and a TT that's nearly as big as what the OP has listed in their signature. We cruise along very comfortably in my Nissan NV 3500 HD.
I was somewhat concerned about hitch weight rating being just 1000lbs when we started since I knew our TT would be right there once loaded. But I see the same hitch assy being rated higher on cargo version van, so I'm sure it's all about the combined numbers / payload. It may make the numbers-nazi's apoplectic, but I could comfortably bump the hitch weight up to 1100 / 1200 without being concerned.
