The biggest issue will payload. Learn what the maximum payload (Cargo carrying capacity) is for the explorer, then subtract everything you plan to carry in the SUV (both people and stuff), the remaining is how much you have left for the TT loaded tongue weight and hitch.
If you make it through that calculation, then check RAWR and GCVWR to make sure you don't exceed them.
This is a simple exercise in math, you can figure it out. Many folks will so no, and many will say your good to go, but it's really your responsibility to figue it out.
