The KZ is too much for the Explorer. I've towed that same trailer with a Suburban, a Yukon XL, a Ram 1500 and a Sierra half ton. The Sierra tows it the best. A half ton V8 pickup or large SUV with a payload of at least 1500lbs is where u should be.
