You're right, if WATER temp stayed that high, its a HUGE problem. But if COOLANT temp stayed that high, its a little less of a problem ;)

On the bright side, at least no one has made any comments about making sure the trans runs high enough to "heat up the moisture". LOL

I posted the Cummins specs and what they say should be minimum and maximum temps in post 7 of this thread. Those screen prints were straight from my Cummins Quickserve specs for the 6.7L.

Step back and take a look at the big picture....factored by eras of both the
vehicle and components of that era from which they were designed...

Many...most...only take a myopic view and the bigger picture is that all things
and more so with lubrication fluids...has an optimal temperature operating range

That has a min and max temp range....plus other factors listed in their specification

Find out what your vehicle specifications are for these fluids in question and
the supplier/manufacturer of those fluids. Both will have min/max temp & other
ranges

As for dealers that some refer to as 'stealers' and other unscrupulous mechanics
all make 'extra' on ignorant (not a derogatory...just means no educated or not
knowledgeable) on the topic. In this case, automotive....find your specifications
and read up...

Also, so many take an absolute position on things...meaning that if it works for
them...it is absolutely correct for EVERYONE out there...or if it didn't work
for them...bad for EVERYONE out there...it depends...

The dealers know how to make money from you, "most" not all, of them could be selling you a fridge for all they care.

I had called 4 different dealerships, and no one could give me info on what the temps should be. does anyone know if these are average temps.
also is there an add on cooler for oil to maybe keep it lower

If the water temp STAYED at 226 going up the Syskious there is a problem. Did you hear your fan come on for a short time see temps drop and go quiet? If not there is a problem.

Dealers know absolutely nothing anymore except if the vehicle throws an error code.
Those temps are fine, even good for working hard.

appreciate all the uplifting health concerns. trying to squeeze trips in between treatments.

I'm shocked the tranny temp is so low. All the rest are normal.
