Towing with 1/2 Ton Suburban or Yukon
We are getting ready to buy a new tow vehicle. New to us anyway. We are looking at late 90s or early 2000 Suburban 1500 or Yukons. Everyone tells me this v8 5.7 engine is big enough to tow our 5200lbs...

Our previous Suburban was a 95 with tow package and 3.73 axle and it towed our camper just fine. I weighed the trailer loaded and ready to camp and it came in at 5200 lbs. If you have the factory tow package and don't load the trailer too much, you will be ok. The Suburban we had before was an 87 with 3.42 axle and it did ok also.
