Towing with 1/2 Ton Suburban or Yukon
We are getting ready to buy a new tow vehicle. New to us anyway. We are looking at late 90s or early 2000 Suburban 1500 or Yukons. Everyone tells me this v8 5.7 engine is big enough to tow our 5200lbs...

If you can, get a '96 or newer. They had a nice HP and torque bump in '96. I had a '95 with the 5.7. It was OK, but our '03 Trailblazer with the 4.2 is a far better tow vehicle than our '95 'Burb was. But over all I liked the 'Burb a lot better. It had great seats in it. I could drive for 12 hours without feeling fatigued.
