The OP is getting all kinds of advice from "Go ahead" to "Keep your popup". Spend ten bucks and come back with actual "Ready to tow" weights and ratings on your pickup. Another unasked and unanswered question is, "What is the condition of your pickup?" It it was mine and 12 years old, it would have 200,000 miles and show a lot of wear on the transmission, brakes, etc. Not something that I would want to tow with at maximum ratings. In other words, if you want meaningful answers, provide more information. Or, accept WAG's from our panel of experts.
