I have owned quite a few explorers and currently own a 2006 V6 with the 3.55 rear and officially limited to 3500 pounds.
V6 models with the 3.73 were usually rated at approx 5,000.
V8 models varried from 3,500 - 7,xxx but that number vary based on the year as well because around that time is when the V8 engine got the six speed trans I believe for 2006
