FWIW we pulled a large Starcraft popup with our 2WD 2001 Sport Trac with my Honda sport bike in the back. We took it to Yellowstone, Colorado, and up to Nova Scotia. I can't find my scale tickets, but we were probably way overweight. The truck did fine and was still running well when we sold it. We had no transmission issues and the truck had nearly 100,000 miles at that time.
