I couldn't disagree more.... And this is coming from a previous 2004 Explorer owner. That Explorer pulled some pretty heavy loads and our 22 bay boat. We sold it with over 150k miles and not a single transmission issue
My BIL will tell you a different story. Google that vintage, lots of transmission issues.
Sport Trac
Most of those transmission problems had electrical leakage in the shift solenoids. Not what I would consider a weak transmission.
