You will have no problem towing a 4,200lb dry weight trailer.
Side note, what trailer are you looking at? I went down from a 10k bunkhouse trailer to one in my signature and its been great for a family of four. Not as much as you'd get in something longer, but the combination of weight, sleeping setup, storage, options and length was perfect.
EDIT: Definitely get a WD hitch with anti-sway. Its easy to hook up with a light trailer and if anything, gives you piece of mind and stability in crosswinds. I have a Blue Ox and love it.
