Towing with a minivan

I know some older folks who pull a very small Starcraft TT with a minivan. They don't travel far with it and dont' take a lot of stuff. You are planning on going across country hauling and pulling a lot of weight - it's not all about what it can tow. I'm betting you will be miserable and subject to breakdowns as a little minivan is not built to take the abuse you plan on giving it. It may be a safety hazzard hauling enough stuff for all those passengers and towing something - think about it. Cross country means mountains - going up and coming down - think engine(underpowered) and brakes (small). Think front end sitting high and back end almost scraping the ground. No way would I come along for that trip in that rig - popup or whatever TT you decide on. Hope you decide to get a better TV as people have suggested. Budget should not overrule safety. Good luck.
