the pup had ac, heated king beds, furnace and shower bath combo $13k new.. You get a huge dinette slide with table bigger than most tt.? Downside was dual drains off level sites and 2hr set ups and breakdown. Under no circumastances could a minivan safely tow that 12ft glamper unless it has 3800lb factory towing. i traded it for a hybrid lost 3k onto a credit card, and said good riddance glamper.
i knew the v8 tb was no match for our hybrid and bought 1ton crew and a k2500 sub since.
$3,000 on a credit card to upgrade? I can't imagine that was worth it...
To the OP- A pop-up would be your best bet. Something similar to the Jayco Jay Series 1207 offers a lot of sleeping space and would be 10x better than a tent, especially in the rain. Check them out here.
At only 2,950 lbs gross, it would be a great match for a Grand Caravan, Town and Country, Odyssey, Sienna, Durango, Acadia/Traverse/Enclave, Pilot, Explorer, Santa Fe, or Toyota Highlander (this would be my choice, plus the 2014 has an eight passenger configuration that comes standard on lower trim levels; but I am a little biased to my Toyotas).
There's a range of tow vehicles that would easily tow the pop-up I mentioned above. Good luck!
As far as the $3k on a credit card goes, it could be worth it if you get points on the card. we have quite a bit of points saved up.
Assuming that you pay the balance off and not carry a crazy interest rate!!
I guess i should've added that.
