Uhaul won't rent to a Jeep Wrangler with a soft top either. If you have a hard top though, they will rent to you. How that makes any sense I will never know.
I have a soft top Jeep, so I used my work truck to rent the uhaul trailer, went home, promptly unhooked the trailer from my work truck and hooked it up to my soft top Jeep, and had a nice 500 mile tow.
