Towing with an Explorer, Highlander or 4Runner-experiences?

We towed a Lance 1685 for 12,000+ miles with a 2006 4 Runner with factory tow package. 4 Runner was great, our factory tow package included an integral frame hitch with the heavy duty transmission cooler.
