OPer, you might try looking for posts by Hannibal a member here. He has been towing a mid-profile 5er with a 5.4 powered F250 for a couple of years. As I recall he seems happy with his. Myself I had an Expedition with the 5.4 towing a 5500 lb TT and was happy. Also had a V10 Excursion towing a 9500 lb TT and loved it. I think a 5.4 will do what you want as long as you are reasonable in your expectations. Good luck, John
