I have to agree with the above post. Although I don't tow much in mountains, the only time the truck feels "sluggish" like some have said is when it's rpm was low, this engine wakes up @ 3000 rpm. The 3 valve 5.4L with the Torqshift transmission in the Superduty makes a decent towing truck.
My F-150 is 11 years old and have been towing since it's break in period. It's a solid reliable truck.
